BREAKING: Dunblane High set to re-open tomorrow after virus closure

Dunblane High is set to be re-opened to pupils and staff tomorrow after the doors were closed following a coronavirus scare.

The measure was announced by council education chiefs on Sunday evening after a pupil tested positive for the virus.

Pupils and staff were urged to stay at home and away from the school campus while a thorough deep clean took place.

And in a further statement this afternoon, Stirling Council confirmed the school would fully re-open on Tuesday morning.

All of the region's other schools also remain open, with pupils, staff and parents urged to heed NHS advice on keeping the virus at bay.

The latest advice from NHS Inform states:

  • If you develop a new continuous cough and/or high temperature (37.8 degrees centigrade or higher) stay at home for 7 days, even if you think your symptoms are mild
  • Those with mild symptoms do not need to call their GP or NHS24 (111).
  • If you are concerned about more serious symptoms, or if your symptoms worsen, you should seek medical advice from your GP in hours, or NHS24 out of hours on 111.
  • More information is available at  www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus.
