BREAKING: Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus cases for March 25

31 people in Dumfries and Galloway have now tested positive for coronavirus.

The latest figures show a rise of five cases from Tuesday's total of 26, with the region having one of the highest rates of confirmed cases per head of population in the country.

There are now 719 across Scotland, with 51 people receiving treatment in intensive care. So far, 22 have died from the disease.

Strict regulations are now in force in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19.

People should now only leave the house to buy essential items, for medical reasons, for necessary work that cannot be carried out at home or for one exercise per day.

The Scottish Government announced today it intends to create a Covid-19 Advisory Group.
