BREAKING: Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus case numbers for May 18

No new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Dumfries and Galloway in the past 24 hours.

It means the number of people to have tested positive in the region remains at 257. Less than five people are currently being treated in the region’s hospitals for Covid-19.

Across Scotland, there are 14,394 confirmed cases with 1,427 people in hospital, with 63 being treated in intensive care.

Since March 5, 3,354 people have been discharged from hospital after testing positive.

A further two have died in the past 24 hours, taking the Scottish figure to 2,105.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned that the low increase is due to less deaths being registered at weekends.
