BREAKING: Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus case numbers for March 26

A total of 39 people in Dumfries and Galloway now have coronavirus.

The figures just released by the Scottish Government show a rise of eight from Wednesday's total of 31.

There are 894 of confirmed cases in Scotland, an increase of 187. 57 people are in intensive care. Three more people who tested positive have died, taking the total to 25.

First Miniser Nicola Sturgeon has revealed that regulations are being drawn up under the Coronavirus Act to enforce social distancing and close businesses.

This will give police enforcement powers - although it is hoped they will not be required.
