BREAKING: Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus case numbers for April 28

No new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Dumfries and Galloway in the last 24 hours.

It means the number of confirmed cases remains at 243.

The latest Scottish Government figures show that at midnight, 25 people were in the region's hospitals with confirmed or suspected coronavirus. Yesterday that number was 22.

Nationally, 51,499 tests have been carried out. So far, 10,721 people have tested positive - 200 more than yesterday. 40,728 have tested negative.

The number of coronavirus patients in hospital has dropped by eight to 1,754. The number in intensive care has dropped by the same number to 126.

2,448 people who tested positive have since been released from hospital.

The Scottish death toll now stands at 1,332 after a further 70 coronavirus-related deaths were confirmed.
