BREAKING: Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus case numbers for April 23

The Dumfries and Galloway confirmed coronavirus case remains at 235.

Today's figures show no further positive cases have been reported in the region in the past 24 hours.

There were 36 people in the region’s hospitals with confirmed or suspected coronavirus at midnight, with less than five in intensive care.

Across Scotland, 44,799 tests have been carried out, with 9,409 positive and 35,390 negative. That’s an increase of 371 positive cases since Wednesday.

The current situation sees 1,748 people in hospital with 148 in intensive care. Yesterday, the figures were 1,776 and 155 respectively. Since March 5, 2,162 people have been discharged from hospital.

A further 58 people have died in the past 24 hours, with the national figure now at 1,120.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway revealed yesterday that 30 people in the region had died as a result of the pandemic.
