Dumbarton sign forward Denny Johnstone on a busy day at the Rock

Dumbarton FC’s squad for the delayed League One season is continuing to take shape, with striker Denny Johnstone joining the club from Falkirk.

The 25-year-old, who worked with manager Jim Duffy at Morton, today joined left-back Rico Quitongo and midfielder Ruaridh Langan in signing up for the new campaign.

Defender Quitongo had attracted plenty of admirers after an impressive first season at the Rock, but the 21-year-old former Hearts and Hamilton kid has committed his future to the Sons - after scooping their Young Player of the Year Award last season.

He has been joined by versatile midfielder Langan, who captained Morton’s development squad before joining Jim Duffy’s side last summer, making 28 appearances and scoring once in all competitions.

More squad news is expected in the coming days, with Sons’ contracts from the 2019/20 campaign set to expire on July 31.
