Dumbarton Academy closes due to Covid outbreak

Dumbarton Academy has closed early for summer after a Covid outbreak.

Pupils are being asked to continue their learning online after the decision was taken to shut the school.

A letter has been issued by West Dunbartonshire Council's education chief Laura Mason today (Monday).

It reads: “Contact tracing is underway at Dumbarton Academy and I am writing to update you that, due to an increase in the number of teachers and pupils being required to self-isolate, we have taken the decision to close the school for the remaining three days of term.

“Pupils were due to finish for the summer at lunchtime on Thursday and can continue with their learning online until then.

“Anyone who requires support or access to a packed lunch during this time or access to equipment should contact a member of the senior leadership team or the headteacher.”
