Breaking down the Steelers pick in the new Draft Wire mock draft

Our friends over at Draft Wire have put out a brand new seven-round mock draft including the new compensatory draft picks. You can check out the whole thing right here but we wanted to break down all six picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Second round-TE Hunter Bryant, Washington

If the Steelers are serious about utilizing the tight end position Bryant is a great option. He’s like an oversized wide receiver and matchup nightmare. With Vance McDonald a potential cap cut, it’s a perfect time for an upgrade.

Third round-OL Logan Stenberg, Kentucky

Stenberg is a solid developmental player with the potential to start at left guard. He gets too upright at times but some of the problems with that are mitigated by his strength.

Fourth round-CB Reggie Robinson II, Tulsa

Robinson certainly passes the eye test as an NFL cornerback. He has excellent length and at times his ball skills really flash on tape.

Fourth round-WR Quintez Cephus, Wisconsin

The Steelers have had really good luck finding sleeper starts at wide receiver in the middle rounds. I’m not sure Cephus has the tools to develop into a starter but his long speed is something to keep an eye on.

Sixth round-DL Nick Coe, Auburn

Coe is a pretty ideal 3-4 defensive line prospect and a real value in the sixth round. He’s got solid length to line up outside and power to move inside to defensive tackle.

Seventh round-RB Michael Warren II, Cincinnati

Warren was a workhorse for the Bearcats in college and his power run style would be a nice addition to the Steelers running back depth chart.
