Acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. is undoubtedly a win, but we should look at what the Cleveland Browns gave up to acquire Odell Beckham Jr.
2019 1st Round Draft Pick: The pick will be 19 overall. While you hate to see first-round picks leave your roster, it is important to remember the Cleveland Browns are outside of the top-10 and likely out of reach from the “blue chip” area of the NFL Draft.
2019 3rd Round Draft Pick: This pick has John Dorsey written all over it. The 95th overall pick was acquired from the Patriots in 2018 in a trade which sent Danny Shelton and a late round pick to the Patriots.
Jabrill Peppers: Selected with pick No. 25 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, Peppers finally started taking steps forward in 2018 as both a return man and in the box safety. However, Peppers was a liability in coverage and may not have been an ideal fit in Steve Wilks’ new defensive system.
Without a doubt, this sets up the Browns offense into another stratosphere and pairs Baker Mayfield with one of the best pass-catching groups in the NFL.
