Breaking down Packers’ first injury report of Week 15

The Green Bay Packers released the team’s first injury report of Week 15 on Wednesday. Matt LaFleur’s team held a regular practice, meaning participation didn’t need to be estimated. The Packers play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and will release a final injury report on Friday.

Nine players landed on the team’s opening report, including four non-participants.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the Packers’ injury report to start the week:

Limited: LT David Bakhtiari (knee), RB Aaron Jones (knee), WR Malik Taylor (abdomen), WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back)

Two pieces of big news: Bakhtiari was back at practice after missing over a month, and Jones is back on the injury report with a knee injury. It’s unclear at this point if Bakhtiari is gearing up to play Sunday or if he’s being eased back into practice, but this is an encouraging sign either way. We don’t know if Jones suffered a new knee injury or aggravated the previous one, but the fact that he was able to practice, even in a limited capacity, is good news. He missed a game with a sprained MCL last month. Taylor exited Sunday’s win over the Bears after re-injuring his abdomen, but he was able to practice, suggesting it wasn’t a serious setback. Valdes-Scantling was added to the injury report with a back issue on Friday of last week but played a full amount of snaps against the Bears.

Full: P Corey Bojorquez (left knee)

Any injury to a punter’s kicking leg is notable, but Bojorquez was able to practice fully on Wednesday, so the injury might be minor. Monitor this one.

Did not participate: QB Aaron Rodgers (toe), TE Dominique Dafney (ankle), WR RT Billy Turner (knee), WR Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion)

All these were expected. Rodgers was hurting after Sunday’s win and may not practice this week as he rests his fractured toe. Dafney, Turner and St. Brown all left the win over the Bears with new injuries and all three will be in danger of missing Sunday’s visit to Baltimore. The Packers don’t think Turner’s injury is season-ending, but it’s possible he could go on injured reserve by the end of the week.

Removed: WR Davante Adams, CB Kevin King, LB De’Vondre Campbell

Neither Adams nor King had an injury designation on last week’s injury report and both were fully available for the win over the Bears. Campbell was questionable with an illness after returning from the COVID-19 reserve list but had no issues.

Not listed: CB Jaire Alexander

The All-Pro cornerback is still practicing with the team, but he remains on injured reserve. The Packers won’t list him on the injury report until he’s back on the active roster.
