Donald Trump state visit: Full details revealed of three day UK trip

The full details of Donald Trump's state visit to the UK have been revealed by Buckingham Palace.

The three-day trip starts on Monday June 3 and ends on Wednesday June 5.

There is no mention on the itinerary of meeting Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry or Meghan Markle.

Widespread protests against Mr Trump are expected in London as there was for his visit in July last year.

When they arrive on the Monday they will be welcomed at Buckingham Palace by the Queen alongside the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

There'll be a ceremonial welcome where the president will inspect the guard of honour alongside Prince Charles.

The two have very different views on climate change and enviromentalism.

The Queen will then host a private lunch at the palace for Mr Trump and his wife Melania.

The President will then visit Westminster Abbey and lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier before a The 45th president and Mrs Trump will then join The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall for tea at Clarence House.

That evening there will be a state banquet at Buckingham Palace where both the Queen and Mr Trump will make speeches.

Theresa May will co-host a business breakfast meeting on Tuesday with senior UK and US business leaders along with the Duke of York.

The outgoing PM will then hold talks with the Republican president at 10 Downing Street followed by a press conference.

Tuesday evening will see the Trumps host a return dinner at Winfield House where Prince Charles and Camilla will attend on behalf of the Queen.

Wednesday will see the Queen and the Prince of Wales attend a 75th D-Day anniversary event in Portsmouth alongside Mr and Mrs Trump.

There the Queen will formally bid farewell before they depart privately later in the day.

The official state visit is long overdue with Theresa May having extended an invitation formally shortly after Mr Trump's surprise win over Hillary Clinton.

His visit in July last year saw widespread demonstrations against his policies.
