Denmark vs Finland postponed after CPR administered to Christian Eriksen during Euro 2020 match

Denmark’s Euro 2020 match with Finland has been postponed following a distressing incident which saw Christian Eriksen collapse to the ground.

There was immediate concern from players of both countries, with his teammates forming a barrier around him.

Medical staff rushed onto the field of play and CPR was administered.

Eriksen's wife entered the pitch and was consoled by Kasper Schmeichel, who himself was in tears.

The Finland players and match officials then left the pitch, before UEFA confirmed the suspension “due to a medical emergency”.

Denmark’s players had formed around their teammate as he received immediate medical attention.

Eriksen, 29, has over 100 caps for his country.

He begun his career at Ajax before spending seven years at Tottenham, playing in over 200 Premier League fixtures for the north Londoners and helping them to the 2019 Champions League final.

Eriksen left Spurs for Inter Milan last year, where he currently plays his football.
