CCTV appeal after man stabbed at tram stop in late-night attack

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a man was stabbed at a tram stop in north Manchester.

The incident happened at Crumpsall Metrolink stop at around 11.30pm on Monday (October 10), police said. The victim - a man aged in his 20s - was threatened by another man for money.

He was stabbed and suffered non life-threatening injuries. Police are now hunting down the attacker.

Officers have issued two CCTV pictures of a man they want to speak to about the stabbing. Anyone who recognises him is being urged to get in touch.

Alongside the photos, police said: "#APPEAL | Can you help us identify this man? Officers are looking to speak to him after a stabbing on #Crumpsall Metrolink Station.

"At around 23:30 on Monday 10 October 2022, a man in his 20s suffered from non-life-threatening injuries after a man threatened him for money. Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to identify the individual.

"Anyone with information should contact detectives on 0161 856 1146. Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
