Caroline Flack's boyfriend Lewis Burton says he's 'gutted' they're apart at Christmas

Caroline Flack's boyfriend Lewis Burton has broken his silence after he had to spend Christmas Day away from her.

He took to his Instagram stories to say he was "gutted" that they were apart and said he'd asked for bail conditions to be lifted so they could be together after she was charged with assaulting him.

The former Love Island host, 40, pleaded not guilty to assault by beating at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court this week, with Lewis, 27, choosing to stand by her.

Lewis wrote today: "Gutted I can't spend Christmas with you, I want to repeat I never pressed charges and asked the other day for the bail conditions to be dropped by no one listened to me.

She sobbed in the dock as prosecutor Kate Weiss spoke of an 'injury' to Lewis Burton's head.

The court also heard that police officers attending Flack's north London home compared the scene to a 'horror movie' as both parties answered the front door covered in blood.
