Caroline Flack: TV star dead at 40 - family lawyer says she took her own life

TV presenter Caroline Flack has been found dead at her flat in London.

The 40-year-old former Love Island presenter's body was discovered at her home.

Her family has been informed, the Mirror reports.

A family spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on February 15.

"We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

A lawyer for the Flack family said it believed Caroline took her own life and was found dead in her east London flat on Saturday.

She had denied the charge of assault by beating.

She had been prohibited from contacting her boyfriend following a court appearance in December 2019.

Former professional tennis player Lewis made a public declaration of his love for Caroline on Valentine's Day.

He had confirmed they were still together by sharing photographs of the pair in happier times.

He wrote: "Happy Valentine's. Love you."In December, Caroline announced she was leaving her job on Love Island just days before she was due to fly out to South Africa to host the first ever Winter Series.

Confirming the news, she wrote on Instagram: "Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly.

"In order not to detract from the attention of the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is stand down for Series 6."
