Mexican soap actress Carmen Salinas has died at the age of 82.
The TV star's family announced her passing and shared that Carmen passed away after suffering a stroke.
A statement was also released on the actress' Twitter page.
Carmen was hospitalised with a stroke in November and on Thursday her nephew Gustavo Briones said she was being treated in intensive care.
Later, her daughter, Maria Eugenia Plascencia, told local media outside the hospital that she talked to her mother who had been able to move her feet.

Three weeks ago Carmen's godson, Jorge Nieto, told a radio station that her stroke left her with "irreversible damage."
He said at the time: "The stroke has irreversible damage, indeed it was in the brain stem, unfortunately, the function of the body is the most affected (...) She will not wake up, that is what they are informing us."
Carmen remained in a medically induced coma before passing away, The Sun report.
When the actress suffered the stroke, she was participating in the filming of the telenovela Mi fortuna es amarte.
Al Dia report that she was at her residence watching her soap opera, when she began to feel sick and suddenly fainted. The people working at her home found her unconscious, and she was immediately transferred to the hospital.
Carmen worked for over six decades of experience in Mexican television and films.
In 2015 she was elected to a seat in the Mexican Congress representing the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
Tributes have been pouring in on social media for the star.
