Carabao Cup quarter-final draw in full as Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea discover fate

Arsenal will face Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium in the last eight of the Carabao Cup whilst Chelsea head to Brentford for a west London derby.

Liverpool will host Leicester City at Anfield and Tottenham will host West Ham in north London

Manchester City's four-year winning run in the Carabao Cup has come to an end after they were beaten on penalties by West Ham.

The games will be played week commencing December 20.

The Black Cats are the only football league side left in the competition and will need to overcome Mikel Arteta's side to make the last four.

Sunderland boss Lee Johnson said earlier this week: "I'd love to have Arsenal away or Tottenham away, or someone like that.

"Then we will wait for the really big guns when it is two legs."

Chelsea meanwhile recently saw off Brentford as they hung on to see off the Bees with Edouard Mendy needing to make several big saves.

Tottenham were beaten in last year's final by City but could finally end their long trophy drought.

Pressure continues to mount on Nuno Espirito Santo but delivering silverware would be a major boost.

They take on a Hammers side who recently got the better of them at the London Stadium and continue to go from strength to strength.

Liverpool's game with Leicester is perhaps the highest quality clash and will see Brendan Rodgers return to Merseyside once more.

The Northern Irishman is yet to win at Anfield since his sacking back in 2015.

Leicester did triumph in last season's FA Cup, beating Chelsea in the final, and their manager insists they are targeting similar success.

“We want to compete in every competition. That’s obviously difficult when we’re in so many." he said.

Jurgen Klopp meanwhile has not tasted success in any domestic cup since taking over from Rodgers.

He guided Liverpool to the final of this competition back in 2016, but that remains his best effort thus far.

The last eight clashes will come during the hectic December schedule, further adding to the workload of the teams involved.

Not team outside the traditional top six has won the competition since Swansea's success back in 2013.
