BREAKING: Bristol Rovers confirm signing of Derby County winger

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson has become the first signing of the Ben Garner era, with the winger joining Bristol Rovers on loan from Championship side Derby County until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old moves the the Mem after impressing in the youth ranks at Pride Park.

The skillful wide man made his first-team debut for the Rams in the 2019/20 season, but playing opportunities have been hard to come by and Derby boss Phillip Cocu will hope a spell playing regularly in League One will see him flourish.

Garner told the club's website: "Jayden is an exciting talent who has developed through the Derby County academy in recent seasons and we are delighted to welcome him to the club."

Mitchell-Lawson started his career at Swindon Town before moving to Derby in 2016, and from there he has risen through the academy to become an eye-catching player in the under-23s.

His form at that level impressed then Rams boss Frank Lampard, who rewarded him with a first-team debut, and the player will be hoping his development will continue with more playing opportunities at the Mem.
