Brentwood stabbing: Teenager fighting for life after being knifed in broad daylight

A teenage boy is fighting for his life after being stabbed in broad daylight in Essex, police say.

He is believed to have been injured after a fight broke out between a number of boys in Mount Avenue, Brentwood this afternoon.

The victim was treated by paramedics in nearby Roundwood Avenue at around 4.30pm before being rushed to hospital, Essex Police said.

He is said to have been left with "life-threatening injuries".

The force is now appealing for witnesses over the incident, with one of the suspects described as wearing a black jacket and jogging bottoms.

A police statement said: "Can you help us?

"Our detectives are appealing for information following a fight in #Brentwood which left a teenager with life-threatening injuries.

"Officers were called at around 4.30pm today, Sunday 21 March following reports a teenage boy had suffered stab injuries in Roundwood Avenue, Hutton.

"The boy is believed to have been injured after a fight broke out between a number of boys in Mount Avenue, Hutton near to the junction with Hutton Gate.

"During the altercation the teenager was stabbed.

"The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and has now been taken to hospital.

"One of the suspects is described as wearing a black jacket and black jogging bottoms.

"Detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, anyone in the area who saw anyone matching the description of the suspect and anyone who may have Dashcam, CCTV or Ring doorbell footage which could help our investigation.

"Anyone with information can contact detectives at Brentwood CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
