Boy, 2, dies after being found 'unresponsive' in home as medic arrives in full hazmat

A two-year-old boy has died after being found 'unresponsive' at a home in Birmingham.

The two-year-old, was rushed to hospital, but medics were unable to save his life, Birmingham Live reports.

A medic in full hazmat equipment was also reportedly seen arriving at the house.

Police have confirmed the boy's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were alerted after a two-year-old boy became unresponsive at an address in Curbar Road, Great Barr, just after 5.30pm yesterday (24 July).

"He was taken to hospital but sadly died soon after arrival.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner is being informed."

Neighbours reported seeing a large number of police and ambulance vehicles lining the road.

No further detail has been released about the child's cause of death.

Last night neighbours reported seeing a medical officer in a hazmat suit entering the home.

It is not clear why this would have happened, and it has not been confirmed.
