Breaking Bad film: More than 10 characters from acclaimed series will return in sequel film El Camino

It’s been confirmed that a number of Breaking Bad characters will return in the new film follow-up to the acclaimed AMC series.

Next month sees the Netflix release of El Camino, which will fill viewers in on the story of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) following the meth drama’s conclusion.

Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan has written and directed what was a top secret production in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and in a brand new feature, we now know how many familiar faces will be showing up.

“It features more than 10 familiar characters from the show,” The Hollywood Reporter writes, adding that Gilligan is keeping tight-lipped on who they are save for Pinkman’s friends Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) and Badger (Matt L Jones).

So, who could be returning? Considering Walter White (Bryan Cranston) perishes in the final episode, it seems unlikely he’ll show up unless Cranston agreed to return for a flashback, or even a dream sequence.

RJ Mitte, who played Walt Jr, ruled himself out of appearing, but fans are hopeful for an appearance of Skylar (Anna Gunn), Marie (Betsy Brandt) or even Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).

A cameo from Odenkirk would be interesting, considering we’ve actually seen what his life is like post-Breaking Bad in the black-and-white future scenes that starts each season of Better Call Saul, the prequel series based on his character. Production on season five was completed earlier this week.

Paul recently named the Breaking Bad scene fans should revisit in preparation for El Camino, which will be available to stream on Netflix from 11 October.
