The latest trailer for Westworld has revealed Aaron Paul's role in the new season.
The Breaking Bad star will play LA construction worker Caleb in the new season, who is soon drawn into the plans of vengeful host Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood).
Dolores has plans to take down the owners of Westworld, the Delos Corporation.
It seems that his character's struggles in poverty are the source of his union with the rebellious artificial intelligence.
"Aaron’s character will challenge Dolores’ notions about the nature of humanity," co-creator Jonathan Nolan says to Entertainment Weekly. "He’s the type of person who doesn't get to go to Westworld."
However, the trailer also shows Black Swan star Vincent Cassel as a corporate face for Delos who recruits the powerful host Maeve (Thandie Newton) to take down Dolores, with the trailer ending with a gun-totting Dolores facing down Maeve with a sword.
Meanwhile, Dolores' former lover William (Ed Harris) may be down but he's not out as he's seeking to "save the world" from Dolores.
The eye-popping new trailer certainly got fans excited, but Breaking Bad fans were delighted to see such a huge role for Aaron Paul.
One wrote on Twitter: "Y’all its official: one month until #Westworld season 3 and Aaron Paul’s debut."
Another noted: "We gots 1 month till #Westworld finallllllllllllllly returns. I think it’s time I switch gears from Succession love to rewatching that in preparation. So excited for Aaron Paul’s arrival!!"
Meanwhile, a different fan commented: "WHAT THE HELL! @aaronpaul_8 is in the new season of #Westworld! How did I not know this, KEEN!"
Another tweeted: |How am I just now finding out that Aaron Paul is in the third season of #Westworld?"
Finally, one concluded: "AARON PAUL BACK ON TV?!!? Let’s go! Can’t wait! #westworld"
The theme for Westworld's third season is "New World" and Nolan comments: "Dystopia can look pretty beautiful in the world. Just because the world is corrupt inside, doesn't mean it can’t be smothered over and pretty.
"We wanted to find a version of dystopia that we hadn't seen before."
Westworld season 3 will return on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV on March 16, 2020.
