Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe in a deal worth £72m
The 24-year-old arrives at the Emirates from the Ligue 1 club after catching the eye in the French first division last season. He scored 22 goals and provided a further 11 assists in 38 league appearances during 2018/19.
His goalscoring form caused a race for his services this summer, with Unai Emery's men seeing off the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli in order to sign the right sided player.
Pepe becomes Arsenal's fourth summer signing after the arrivals of Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba and Dani Ceballos.
The Gunners will pay the hefty fee in instalments in order to stick to their strict summer budget after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.
Unai Emery has long been on the look out for another wide man to provide for strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, and the capture of Pepe will be a weight off of the Spaniard's shoulder as he continues to look to improve his squad.
It is likely that Arsenal will now be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes on Thursday 8th August.
