Arsenal confirm transfer of former Ajax winger Joel Ideho

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of 17-year old Joel Ideho following a very brief spell with Ajax's Under-18s.

Developed in Willem II's academy, the youngster can play off both wings but is more frequently used off the right.

He Joined Ajax just this summer but will now be part of Arsenal's Professional Development Phase where he can play for the Under-18s and Under-23s.

This comes as the Gunners' second recent arrival looking to bolster the Under-23s and Under-18s after the club's initial business was done earlier in the window.

James Benge provides Thomas Partey medical update and latest transfer news

18-year-old striker Nikolaj Moller was announced to have joined the club early on Tuesday [October 6] to fill the void left in the striking positions by Tyreece John-Jules [on loan at Doncaster Rovers] and Sam Greenwood [sold to Leeds United].

Another winger, George Lewis was the first foray into the market for youngsters and that was shortly followed by the additions of Salah-Eddine, Tim Akinola and Jonathan Dinzeyi.

These signings will prove crucial for Steve Bould in the 2020/21 campaign as having his squad impress so much last season meant that many of his players were sent out on loan to prove themselves at first team level.

Many have landed in League One with Zech Medley and Trae Coyle at Gillingham, Matt Smith at Swindon Town, John-Jules at Doncaster and Dan Ballard joining Blackpool on deadline day.

filling these gaps in the side was going to be essential for Bould moving forward and having done so, he will be very encouraging for the rest of the Premier League 2 campaign.

Arsenal have had a poor start to the season as one draw and three defeats sees them bottom of the table while the new side try to gel with each other so kicking on with these new additions will prove vital.
