Air ambulance called after teenage boy hit by a car in Sale

An air ambulance has been scrambled to Sale after a teenage boy was hit by a car.

The collision happened on Brooklands Road just after 12pm on Thursday (May 21).

A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said a boy in his mid-teens suffered a back injury.

Paramedics continue to treat him at the scene.

The car involved in the collision was a blue Kia Picanto, Greater Manchester Police said.

No arrests have been made.

A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Brooklands Road at 12.01pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

"We are still at the scene at the moment.

"An air ambulance was there but they have now left.

"We are treating one patient, a male in his mid-teens.

"He has suffered a back injury."
