Breakfast fry-up lovers divided over which item they would 'get rid of'

Who doesn't love a classic fry-up for breakfast?

Whatever you choose to have with yours, there are certain firm favourites that people all over the UK love - bacon, sausage and eggs, to name a few.

But one post on Twitter has stirred up the painful discussion of what item people would most likely "get rid of" if they had to choose, with many differing opinions causing anger amongst fans of the greasy dish.

Twitter account @NoContextBrits started the debate with its 1.2 million followers over the weekend.

Posting a picture of a classic fry-up, the question was posed: "You have to lose one item. What is it?"

The image showed a plate full of fry-up items: fried eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausages, black pudding, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and black pudding.

And people in the replies were quick to show their disdain for certain types of food, sparking a fierce debate on which things were worthy of staying on the plate.

A popular opinion was that baked beans had no place in a fry up, with one person saying: "Beans. I mean who likes beans?"

Another agreed, saying: "Beans hands down. No fry up should have tomato based products on it."

But some people were firmly defending that the beans should have a right to stay, with one person chiming in: "Who are all the people saying beans? You need their sauce to dip the sausage and wipe up with the bread!"

Another item that was getting a lot of backlash was the Scots classic black pudding.

Referring to the food, one disgusted person said: "Whatever those black pucks are."

Another agreed, saying: "Black pudding, everything else stays." while a third exclaimed: "What's that charred black stuff?"

Some were affronted that hash browns were even on the plate in the first place, as they claimed they weren't "British" enough to belong in a fry-up.

One said: "Hash browns don't belong on a full English so it's gotta be that."

Several people simply didn't want to lose anything from the mouth-watering plate, with one person joking that they'd "get rid of the plate."

Which fry-up item would you get rid of? Let us know in the comments.
