• Microsoft is expected to outline its plans for further online expansion today - announcements that could have been a factor behind Google's announcement of Chrome OS last week. We'll be bringing you more on this later - but in the meantime there's some interesting comment from notorious blogger Mini Microsoft, who suggests that Redmond could benefit as the shine is taken off Google.
• France's so-called "three strikes" law to target illegal filesharers - rejected recently for not allowing judicial oversight - has been resubmitted - with the final say being offered to judges, says Ars Technica.
• Your post-weekend reading: The BBC explains what happened when Sir Tim Berners-Lee talked at a corporation event on Friday; Techdirt on why a recent deal for webcasting royalty rates in the US (reported in an earlier briefing) marks a 'death sentence'; and finally, the New York Times carries on a recent tear against bloggers with an article pointing out that some bloggers run posts that are the result of payment from sponsors (no mention of the fact that this may also be the case with traditional media).
