Breakfast around the world: share your pictures

Breakfast India
What does your first meal of the day say about local food culture in your area? Photograph: Alamy

Whether it is Jian bing on the streets of Beijing, poha in Mumbai, ugali in Nairobi, or homemade porridge in Edinburgh, we want you to take a picture of a typical breakfast where you live and tell us about it.

We’re interested to know what your first meal of the day says about your local food habits. Is it best bought from a supermarket, a street stall, or homemade? Are the ingredients from your local area, or the other side of the world? And how much has breakfast in your area changed over the years?

You can share your photos, videos and experiences by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’. Or you can email guardianwitness@theguardian.com. We’ll use the most interesting contributions in our reporting.
