Breakdown shows how many vaccines have been carried out in each Trust in Northern Ireland

The latest breakdown from the Department of Health (DoH) shows how many Covid-19 vaccines have been carried out in each Trust in Northern Ireland.

Health Minister Robin Swann revealed that more than 36,000 vaccine doses have been administered across the country.

He said 80% of all care homes in Northern Ireland have been visited by vaccination teams with 8,940 residents and 10,484 care home staff given the jab.

In addition over 16,000 frontline HSC staff have also now received the vaccine, according to the DoH.

The department said that all HSC staff will be offered the vaccine in due course at seven dedicated vaccination clinics and will continue to be called forward by their respective Trusts when it is their time.

Full breadown of Covid-19 vaccination distribution in Northern Ireland:

  • Belfast Trust: 1,692 care home residents. 2,177 care home staff. 59 care homes. 4,806 HSC staff.
  • Northern Trust: 1,912 residents. 2,496 care home staff. 101 care homes. 2,200 HSC staff.
  • South Eastern Trust: 2,579 residents. 3,139 care home staff. 109 care homes. 3,285 HSC staff.
  • Southern Trust: 1,470 residents. 1,372 care home staff. 57 care homes. 1,737 HSC staff.
  • Western Trust: 1,287 residents. 1,300 care home staff. 57 care homes. 2,231 HSC staff.

Meanwhile, details have now also been released about the roll out of the second Covid-19 vaccine in Northern Ireland.

Early on Wednesday, the DoH revealed that Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine had been approved.

The breakthrough now means GPs in Northern Ireland can begin the first phase of population vaccination from January 4, starting with those aged 80 years and over.

However, while Minister Swann said the news would bring a 'rapid increase' to the coronavirus vaccination programme, he warned the public to remain "cautious".

"It will take time before we see the true benefits of vaccination," he said.

"So for now keep doing what you are doing. Keep any New Year celebrations within your existing household.

"Do the right thing and stick to the regulations to keep yourself and your loved ones safe and protect our health service.”
