Breakdancing is expected to feature at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The acrobatic style of street dance, typically set to hip-hop or funk music, is set for inclusion at the competition in Paris.
Surfing, sport climbing and skateboarding, which are due to have their debut at Tokyo 2020, will also be included.
The four sports have been chosen by organisers, but still need final approval from the International Olympic Committee.
Their inclusion would come on top of the 28 sports already on the programme.
Organisers of Paris 2024 said breakdancing was selected because it is an “urban, universal and popular sport”.
Breakdancing appeared at last year’s Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. Squash is not set for inclusion.
