'Break my heart' - Man City fans send clear message to Gabriel Jesus amid transfer reports

Manchester City supporters have wished Gabriel Jesus good luck following reports that he is on the brink of joining Arsenal.

The striker hit 13 goals last season and became an important cog in the team towards the end of the campaign. However, the player supposedly wishes to enjoy more regular game time with Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez arriving at the Etihad this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that a fee of £45m has been agreed with Arsenal for Jesus, and that he has agreed personal terms, with the completion of the move expected soon.

Fans had questioned the future of Jesus before Haaland’s arrival had been announced anyway, with the striker being left on the bench on a number of occasions this season as Pep Guardiola chose to play a midfielder as a false nine instead.

But they recognised the Brazilian’s contribution to the club since his 2017 arrival. In 236 club appearances, he has scored 95 times and set up 46 more.

In that time, Jesus has lifted four Premier League titles, an FA Cup and four League Cups. So City supporters on Twitter were eager to show their respect for the player amid the reports.

@citehxen: Sad to see him leave. Hope he cooks being the main guy at Arsenal.

@13ICECREAM14: I really liked Jesus. I think he is a great player who should probably play left wing or a position where he'll use his speed in a more advantageous way.

@aju_robbo: It'd break my heart to see Gabby leaving, such a great character, team player and City fan through and through.

@immapat7671: Gabby is a hard worker, I will miss you @gabrieljesus9 good luck in your upcoming transition.

@gordso1: Sorry to see him leave… unbelievable work ethic for the team… good luck to him a fantastic servant to our club.

@ArkaBasu16: Only good wishes for him. Always gave everything on the field.
