Brazil's World Cup qualifier with Argentina has descended into anarchy as police and local health officials stormed the pitch to detain visiting players.
It was alleged before the game that four Argentina players - believed to be Tottenham 's Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero and Aston Villa 's Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez - were in breach of Covid rules.
That's because they are based in England and non-Brazilians have to isolate for 14 days when arriving from the UK.
Reports emerged claiming that Brazilian health officials wanted to deport the four stars just hours ahead of the game.
But when three of them were named in the Argentina starting XI, that appeared to be the end of the matter.
Less than 10 minutes into the match, however, all hell broke loose when a number of police and health officials gathered on the touchline and entered the pitch.
They then attempted to detain the three men in question before the entire Argentina team was ushered back into the dressing room.
It was then announced that the game would be stopped for 25 minutes with the likes of Neymar and Dani Alves left on the pitch wondering if it would resume.
