Brazil coach Tite responds to Jurgen Klopp comments about treatment of Liverpool star Fabinho

Brazil national team coach Tite has responded to Jurgen Klopp’s claim about his use of Liverpool star Fabinho.

Liverpool are still assessing the extent of Fabinho's hamstring injury picked up against Midtjylland in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Klopp was asked after the game by a Brazilian journalist for an update on the midfielder - and said it is a blow for the national team too.

However, when replying to the question, the Liverpool boss made reference to Tite not tending to select the Reds man for international matches.

The former Monaco star was named in the Brazil squad for last month's World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru but did not feature and only has 12 senior caps for the Selecao.

"I'm not sure if Tite's too worried because he plays him never so he will probably now not sit on the bench for the next three international games,” Klopp said.

"For us it's obviously a proper blow but for now we don't know.

"Fab was not positive but not too negative as well so we will see, we have to wait for the scan tomorrow morning and then we will know more."

However, when asked about Klopp’s comments, Tite pointed to common ground and talked about how him and the Reds boss have the same ideas.

“Klopp and I have the same thinking and the same scale of values. The health of athletes is essential. It is human,” he told Jovempan.

“The use is secondary, just as sport is secondary when we talk about health, when we talk about people, when we talk about something that is bigger.

“We have this same idea and way of watching football.”

The ECHO understands a time frame is yet to become clear for Fabinho’s injury and that Klopp is expected to give the latest update at his West Ham press conference tomorrow.

However, it looks highly unlikely that Fabinho will feature in any of the matches before the international break.

Liverpool will be hoping that the 27-year-old has avoided a more serious "grade three" tear to his right hamstring.

After the Hammers this weekend, Liverpool have a crunch clash against Atalanta in the Champions League next week and return to domestic action away to Manchester City five days later.
