Brazil coach tells Philippe Coutinho one thing he must improve amid transfer talk

Brazil boss Tite has admitted Philippe Coutinho needs to improve his creativity as they chase Copa America glory.

But he has defended his under-fire star and insisted his struggling side must share responsibility for their lack of goals.

Coutinho has endured a miserable year at Barcelona prompting rumours of a summer switch with a swap deal involving international team-mate Neymar tipped to take him to Paris Saint-Germain.

Brazil have been criticised in their opening two Copa America games and will take on Peru on Saturday night in their final group game.

And whilst Tite has urged Coutinho to find extra, he says the likes of Roberto Firmino and Arthur Melo must also play their part.

"Coutinho can improve his creativity in the team," Tite said.

"But the players on the wings have the freedom to create and Firmino can move up [the pitch].

"Arthur has to create. It's unfair to point to Coutinho because we lack creativity."

Coutinho and Neymar have been the focus of intense speculation in recent weeks and could swap places as part of a huge deal this summer.

Neymar has been ruled out of the Copa America by an ankle injury but spent this week with the squad and will attend their clash with Peru.

Tite says the striker was a welcome visitor to their camp as he underwent further tests on his ankle as he continues to recover.

"The doctor did an examination on his ankle," Tite explained.

"His teammates greeted him with a hug. He was happy to visit us and we were very happy to see him."

A win and a draw have left Brazil with work still to do against Peru to secure their spot in the next round.
