Brazen thieves steal eight Pot Noodles during home invasion that sparked huge police response

A mother has claimed eight Pot Noodles were pinched from her house after robbers broke-in, which prompted a large police response.

Christine Gibson made the claims following her home being raided by thieves in the early hours of Wednesday morning, November 17.

Police were called to the scene after Christine dialled 999 because she saw a man in her garden on the family’s CCTV system.

A large emergency services presence responded to the call after a man reportedly climbed on a nearby roof, and a police helicopter is understood to have been dispatched to suspected burglary.

Christine, who has fibromyalgia and mobility issues, lives with her 27-year-old daughter at the property.

Gibson was left shaken by the robbery and has now claimed the crook didn’t manage to swindle much, apart from eight king sized pot noodle snacks.

Police have confirmed they have arrested a man in connection to the incident on Knowsley Road, St Helens.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Ms Gibson said: “When I saw a man in my garden on our camera I phoned the police straight away.

“He jumped on the roof of the flats next to my house, me and my daughter are fine, just both really shaken up.”

She added: “He didn’t take anything except for eight Pot Noodles - beef and tomato flavoured king sized ones.

“I didn’t even realise they were missing until my daughter went and checked, and I knew they were missing as I normally buy 12 at time.

“I had my mobility scooter I think he tried to get that out and spotted the noodles, he didn’t take the chicken and mushrooms ones but you can sell Pot Noodles for 50p so I think he took them to sell.

“I’m frightened of him coming back. I’m constantly looking at the camera to see, and my daughter has started having nightmares since.”

Merseyside Police confirmed that a 33-year-old man was arrested on Knowsley Road on November 17 on suspicion of burglary, which took place at around 5:15am.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact police @MerpolCC or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with reference 21000798828.
