Brazen thieves steal £40k worth of plant equipment from East Kilbride building sites

Plant equipment worth a staggering £40k has been stolen from building sites in East Kilbride by brazen crooks.

Police are now appealing for information to help them track down the culprits.

A dumper truck was stolen between 4pm on August 31 and 10am the following day from a building site at Elphinstone Crescent in The Murray.

Meanwhile, a digger also vanished between 5pm and 8.30pm on August 27 from a building site at Langlands Avenue.

It comes after a carer discovered her car had been stolen from the Newlandsmuir area overnight on Sunday into Monday.

Officers are now urging anyone with information to get in touch.

They should contact 101 and quote incident number 0772 of September 1 and incident number 0828 of August 28 respectively.
