A group of drivers in Edinburgh have been chastised after leaving their motor vehicles in the middle of Princes Street Gardens.
An onlooker captured an image of the group of cars all parked in a circle around the children's trampoline enclosure in the middle of the Gardens, as pedestrians walked by on Monday.
The image was posted on Twitter with the caption, "When did Princes Street Gardens West become a car park?"
Other Twitter users chimed in, with one saying, "I thought it was bank holiday monday not busy body monday."
Another user quote tweeted the image, stating, "Like rats, if a driver can get a car in, a driver will get a car in."
This event comes as Transport Scotland announce that cost of parking tickets in Edinburgh could be hiked to as much as £120 in the near future.
A consultation is taking place on increasing the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) across Scotland that is imposed on drivers who park illegally.

Currently a cost of £60 is incurred, reduced to £30 if it is paid within 14 days.
However a Transport Scotland consultation on the issue states that "this may not be a sufficient deterrent" to prevent drivers from parking where they are not permitted.
It also proposes creating a two-tier charging system, with a higher and lower band depending on the severity of the offence.
At the time of writing, it is unknown whether these drivers faced any penalty for their choice of parking.
