Brazen Christmas crook caught on camera loading stolen wreaths into back of car outside local Aldi

A brazen thief has been caught on camera stealing festive wreaths and loading them into the back of a car outside a West Lothian Aldi store.

Shocked shoppers watched on in disbelief as the criminal, donning a hi-vis jacket and face mask, bungled dozens of the Christmas decorations into the back of his car.

Police are investigating the bizarre incident, which happened at the supermarket located on Falkirk Road, Linlithgow, on Monday evening. The car park and store was busy with shoppers at the time, and a number of people can be seen walking in and out the store as the theft is taking place.

The crook can be seen walking back and forth between his car and a stand used to stock the wreaths before loading large numbers of the decorations into his vehicle, seemingly without any fear of being seen.

A staff member at the store says that all wreaths had been stolen from outside the shop, and the culprit was driving a red Clio at the time.

They want anyone with information on the theft, or who knows the identity of the crook, to come forward.

Aldi say this is now a police matter and Police Scotland have confirmed to Edinburgh Live the crime has been reported to them. Officers are investigating the incident.
