Brayden Schenn scores twice in third period as Blues defeat Flames, 4-1

EDMONTON, Alberta _ The Blues snapped out of the brief funk in which they allowed 12 goals in two games, holding Edmonton to just one in a 4-1 win on Thursday night.

Brayden Schenn scored two goals in the third period and extended his point streak to six games (in which he has 14 points). He also had an assist, giving him at least three points in three of his past six games.

The Blues, coming off a 7-4 loss at Calgary on Monday, took control in the second period and pulled away in the third. The Blues took a short-lived lead on a short-handed goal by Vladimir Sobotka, and then Alexander Steen scored on a power-play goal in the second period to put the Blues ahead.

Jake Allen stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced as he picked up his 100th NHL win.

The Blues outshot Edmonton 39-30.

The Blues finish their three-game trip with a game at Vancouver on Saturday.
