Bray Wanderers praise WWE star Finn Balor after he makes 'incredibly generous' donation to club's fundraiser

First Division club Bray Wanderers have praised Irish WWE star Finn Balor after he jumped to their aid with an 'incredible generous' donation to the club.

Football is on the way back to the Carlisle Grounds at the end of the month, and the club have vowed to roll out the red carpet for the Bray native after his €500 donation.

With the Seagulls struggling for funds after over three months in shutdown, the WWE star - real name Fergal Devitt - made the massive donation to boost the funds raised beyond €3,000.

The club tweeted: "A huge thank you to one of Bray's finest @FinnBalor for his incredibly generous donation!

"We'll have the red carpet rolled out in the Carlisle Grounds for you when you're home and we're back on the pitch!"

A former footballer himself, his father Fintan has previously played for the club - perhaps leading to the generous donation.

Balor made a name for himself wrestling in Japan and has been a hit across the Atlantic after signing for WWE in 2014.
