Bray gang of youths 'fire eggs at homeless people's tents' in shocking incident

A local community is in shock after a gang of youths allegedly fired eggs at the tents of homeless people in the area.

A gang of 20 youths were said to have been spotted throwing eggs at the rough sleepers' tents and belongings, causing serious damage and emotional turmoil.

The incident allegedly happened at around 3pm yesterday near Lidl in Little Bray, and has been condemned by local residents.

A volunteer with a community group that offers support to rough sleepers in Bray was appalled by the callous act, and he took to Facebook to try to highlight the consequences that the gang's actions have had, in the hope that someone might know the perpetrators.

He wrote: "Today at about 3.00pm a group of up to 20 youths thought it amusing to pelt their tent and belongings with eggs.

"This mindless action has caused both physical damage to their property and personal emotional stress.

"The individuals sleeping rough are some of the most decent people I have had the pleasure to come across and I am appalled by the behaviour of this group of thugs.

"Some people may read this post and my hope is that they may have some knowledge of the perpetrators and would therefore be in a position to educate the individuals as to the consequences of their actions today."

Locals were upset and angered, with many offering assistance to the people that have been affected.

One person said: "Absolutely appalling."

Another wrote: "They're such lovely people it's hard to believe anyone would be so callous and treat anyone that way!"

A third person commented: "Absolutely disgusting behaviour hope they are caught out."
