Braxton Miller added to Carolina Panthers practice squad

According to news from the organization, former Ohio State quarterback/wide-receiver Braxton Miller has been added to the Carolina Panthers practice squad. The move comes as a domino effect of placing safety Natrell Jamerson on the injured reserve list and promoting wide-receiver DeAndrew White off the practice squad.

For Miller, it’s been an uphill battle to stick with in the NFL after originally being drafted by the Houston Texans in the 3rd round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Of course you know the story well, but Miller had to switch to the wide-receiver position after an injury to his throwing shoulder left him unable to play quarterback his senior year at Ohio State.

Since joining the Texans, he saw his playing time drastically reduce after suffering a shoulder injury in December of 2016. He was eventually waived by the Texans in 2018, and picked up for both the Eagles and Browns practice squads over the last year before being out of the league again.

Now, it appears, he at least has a spot to continue to play the game he loves, but it’ll still be a steep, steep climb to get an active roster spot that’ll result in more game-time action.

Good luck Braxton! Once a Buckeye …
