Braves game at Rockies postponed

DENVER _ The Braves' game against the Rockies scheduled for 3:10 p.m. EST Wednesday was postponed.

Inclement weather led to the decision. Northeastern Colorado is under a blizzard warning, with snow accumulation of 5-10 inches predicted.

The Rockies announced the makeup date for the game is Monday, Aug. 26, with a 3:10 p.m. start time. That will provide a one-day trip to Denver after playing a home game against the Mets on Aug. 25 before a game at Toronto on Aug. 27.

This trip was the third consecutive series win for the Braves, who put up impressive offensive showings in the first two games of the now-shortened series.

Since being swept opening weekend in Philadelphia, the Braves are 7-1. The Rockies, meanwhile, dropped to 3-9, their second-worst start in franchise history.

The Braves' next game is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. Thursday against the Mets at SunTrust Park. The Braves left Denver on Wednesday morning, as did the Rockies, who open a series in San Francisco on Thursday.
