Caledonian Braves boss Ricky Waddell has backed plans for a 32-game Lowland League season.
Waddell says having a full season card will help with football return to the way it was before lockdown, as will being able to play pre-season friendlies from Saturday.
He said: “It’s the right thing to do from our point of view, and I suppose it’s good to have clarity.
“Depending on how restrictions are put on, it’s a positive move, certainly to find out that there’s going to be a full season ahead of us.
“Really all we want is to get back to some sort of normality.
“I know it’s not always going to be like that, there are going to be players missing throughout the season – we’ve seen even at the highest level that it’s hard to keep anything like that under control, so there’s going to be a degree of flexibility that players and coaches will need to have, but the players will be happy with a full season.
“All we want is the chance to try and progress again and a 32-game season helps us to do that.”
On friendlies, Waddell said: “I’m really pleased with that. It means we can properly organise things.
“I’ve got some provisional games lined up, so it means I can work away and get all those games confirmed.
“I’ll probably be looking to have between five and seven, something like that.
“We’ve been trying to ease them in, get them used to kicking a ball again.”
