Brave Stacey Solomon breaks down admitting she felt 'cruel' struggling to breastfeed Rex

Brave Stacey Solomon broke down admitting she felt "cruel" struggling to breastfeed Rex on today's Loose Women.

The mother-of-three, who welcomed baby Rex with partner Joe Swash last year, confessed she "romanticised" breastfeeding while she was pregnant.

Emotional Stacey said Rex had a healthy birth but ended up losing a whole pound and got really small.

Stacey didn't feel pushed by society to breastfeed but admitted she put pressure on herself during the difficult time with her newborn.

She explained: "When I couldn’t, I got myself in an emotional, hormonal rut of not being able to let it go. I didn’t want to let it go.

"He was also really quite small. He ended up losing nearly a whole pound, he did get really small.

"Looking back now, I almost feel cruel that I carried on trying. You do feel like, 'I could have just given him a bottle'."

As Stacey broke down in tears she was comforted by her caring fellow Loose Women panellists.

Christine Lampard added: "Loads of women at home are going through what you described."

Stacey admitted she put pressure on herself throughout her experience as breastfeeding is seen is such a "warm and positive light".

"just couldn’t do it. I really wanted to do it and I just felt like I didn’t know if I was being lazy or I couldn’t take the pain.

"You just start thinking, 'This is what my body is made to do, why aren’t I just pushing through and doing it?' I thought i was bad at the job."
