Brave Mikel Arteta decision unlocks Arsenal's heir to Cesc Fabregas from Hale End

Arsenal came out 1-0 winners in a tough match against Watford, which was sealed by an Emile Smith Rowe goal in the second half.

It looked to be one of those days for us, as the team were constantly denied excellent chances to grab a goal.

After a disallowed goal and a missed penalty, Smith Rowe was Arsenal’s saviour in preventing the match ending in a stalemate.

This isn’t the first time he put the club on his back when the team are calling out for it this season, and his clutch genes are becoming very reminiscent of former Arsenal midfielder, Cesc Fabregas.

The 21-year-old has become the fourth Arsenal player under the age of 21 to score in three straight Premier League games, with the previous three being Nicolas Anelka, Jose Antonio Reyes and Fabregas.

Mikel Arteta’s change in system has transformed Smith Rowe this season as the youngster has benefited from playing on the left wing.

He has six goal contributions in the Premier League this season and all of those have come in the four games Arteta has put him out wide.

We currently find ourselves unbeaten in our last ten games and Smith Rowe has started in all of the Premier League matches featured in this impressive change around in form.

His performances against Spurs, Aston Villa, Leicester and now Watford have all been clutch due to the impact he has had on the matches.

It is similar to Fabregas who also broke into the side at a young age and became a regular starter under Arsene Wenger.

The Spaniard captained the club at 21-years-old due to his exemplary performances and leadership skills, which saw him make 212 appearances for the club and scoring 35 goals in the process

Arsenal’s current number 10 is certainly following in his footsteps and doesn’t shy away from putting the team on his back and providing at the most crucial moments during a game.

He has unlocked another part of his game which will only lead to further recognition as a potential Arsenal great and a call up to the senior national team for England.
