A swimmer was rescued off the coast of Sandycove after they were injured in the water.
Brave lifeguards from the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council rushed into the sea after the alarm was raised at the Forty Foot Beach on Friday.
The swimmer was moved to the lifeguard station where they were treated by paramedics from the National Ambulance Service Advanced Paramedic.
They were then removed to the ambulance by the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard teams.
A spokesperson for the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard said: “Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard team were tasked to an injured swimmer who required assistance at the Forty Foot.
“Local DLRCC lifeguards were on duty at the time and immediately went to the assistance of the swimmer, who, along with other swimmers moved the casualty to lifeguard station.
“National Ambulance Service Advanced Paramedic & Paramedics arrived on the scene and provided immediate treatment. Coast Guard teams assisted with the removal of the casualty to the awaiting ambulance.
“Crews stood down.
“If you see someone in difficulty in or near the water, call 112/999 and ask for the Coast Guard.”
