Brave Easter Bunny steps in to save woman beaten up on the street

A man in an Easter Bunny suit hopped into a violent fight with a man after seeing a woman being beaten up on the street on Sunday night.

Video emerged on Instagram showing a man and a woman brawling on the street before the white Bunny jumps to the defence of the woman.

The Easter Bunny drags the man on the floor and punches him repeatedly in the back in Orlando, Florida.

Seconds later, bystanders and a police officer came to separate the trio and cooled off the situation.

Antoine McDonald, who was inside the Bunny suit, told NBC that he had no choice but to help the woman out.

He said: "So I got over there so I could break up the fight, and with me trying to break up the fight, he got on top of her and hit her.

"So I had to try a different method, basically, to break up the fight, which actually worked."

The altercation erupted outside the SAK Comedy Lab in downtown Orlando, Florida.

Witness Lindsey Edwards said he saw the man in grey t-shirt spit on the woman before they began scuffling and the Bunny came to her defence.

Josh Manes, night manager of a bar nearby, said he heard the shouting and ran outside to see a costumed man started blows on the man who was on the ground fighting the woman.

He said: "I was at a lost of words. I guess that's how Sundays, fun days go around here in Orlando.

"I can't be too surprised."

Luckily an on-duty police officer patrolling the neighbourhood came and broke up the fight.

Antoine said the police initially thought the whole fight had been staged and he was warned by the officer that if he did it again, he will get arrested.

But the officer later understand that Antoine was being a good Samaritan.

"The cops broke them up, they shook the hand of the guy in the bunny suit and let him go," said Manes.

"He was just partying, enjoying his Easter Sunday."

Sgt David Baker of Orlando Police confirmed the fight happened at about 10:30pm and that no one was arrested.
