Amanda Holden relives heartache over stillborn son Theo as she thanks NHS

Amanda Holden has praised the NHS for helping her deal with the loss of her stillborn son Theo and for saving her life after she was left in a coma following the birth of her daughter Hollie.

The telly star, 49, opened up about her past experiences with the health service while promoting her new charity single Over The Rainbow.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain today, she insisted NHS staff had helped her after her baby son was "born sleeping" and again when she suffered horrendous complications after the birth of her daughter Hollie.

Amanda also thanked doctors for saving her sister Debbie, who was seriously injured in a car crash in 2016.

She said: "I feel like I have used [the NHS] more than most people. I have had to rely on them.

"We have always known the NHS is there and we all do take it for granted.

"I think it is wonderful how we have shone a light on them and we are really appreciating everything and seeing all the work they do.

"It has been well documented that Chris and I had a baby boy who was born sleeping at an NHS hospital...

"And then the year after he was born I delivered Hollie, and then went into a coma...

"So that was pretty traumatic, and then three years ago my sister had a car accident that she has fully recovered from now.

"But all those incidents were massively trying and the NHS were there to support us all the way through."

In 2011, at seven months pregnant with son Theo, a scan revealed his heart had stopped and she later underwent a Caesarean to deliver him.

Just a year after the tragic loss of her son, Amanda was left fighting for her life after she suffered a haemorrhage during the birth of her daughter Hollie.

Amanda pulled through and so did Hollie, now eight.

The Britain's Got Talen judge is also mum to another daughter, 14-year-old Alexa, known as Lexi.

Amanda's charity single is raising money for NHS Charities amid the coronavirus outbreak.
